Demonstratives ('pointing' words) such ovo 'this', to 'that', ono 'that', ovde 'here', tamo 'there', onamo 'there' are used according to the following general rule:

Close to the speaker ovo, ovde 'this, here'

Close to the listener to, tamo 'that, there'

Away from both interlocutors ono, onamo 'that, there'
